Good times Bad times
Good times Bad times
Hi all
Went to the GP's this week
Proudly sat there and said I don't drink or smoke cigarettes anymore
What a feeling. Great.
No medals or shiny stars but hey it's the Welsh NHS
Blood pressure check 130/84. Nearly fell off my chair
It's been 170/110
That's good news right?
Checked my weight 7Kg less than when I stopped drinking
More good news
Now the bloods have gone off for inspection 2 week wait for results.
Last week has been a drag arthritis flare up and the pain has been unbearable I remember what I used to use to treat it.
The downside of this has been stir crazy. I'm like a caged beast.
Good news with the business it is going to wrap up on 31st March and I will be a consultant for new takeover firm apparently they need me. I will work from home. That suits me and I get dollar...
They are going to buy the vans, stock and other goods they need. all good.
So why perversely with all this good news am I wandering around like a neanderthal beast with toothache.
Why isn't the sun shining and everyone are waving flags? ...
It's 44 days without a beer I hardly think about it anymore, the cigarette cravings are worse...That's over 3 weeks now...
I got this theory that my brain hates me for not giving it what it demands
Not much of a post but I will conclude that SR is always at the front of my mind and I do read others' posts here and some days most days it helps me move forwards.
Hope you're all doing well
Best wishes
Dave.

You are doing wonderful Rockfish. You health has had tremendous improvements. I'm sure the bloodwork will be just fine. I have been cigarette free for 7 years, though I confess I vape. I'm going to work on getting rid of that this summer. Keep up the awesome work.
Hi Dustitoffman
I do have a drink every morning that includes a spoonful of turmeric, lemon, honey, cayenne pepper and apple cider vinegar. It is as disgusting as it sounds.
It helps the knees and hips but the spine is a law unto itself. Also take seven seas chondroitin, glucosamine and omega 3 vit pills....

You brain doesn't hate you.
We gave into addiction a lot for a long time. We got conditioned.
Sometimes it/the AV/ gets quite adept at thinking of going back into that madness by another door.
You can outlast a craving without giving into it Dave - and you'll break that conditioning
keep it up man
