Question about divorce
I'm in the very early process of getting a divorce. I just completed rehab and I'm going to slowly start rebuilding my life.
Anyway, prior to rehab and currently, I'm unemployed. I'm in the process of looking for work (PT or FT) in my field. There could be a contentious custody battle with my soon-to-be-ex as he goes for full custody of our child. I'd like to keep my alcoholism and this custody battle on the down low as I search for jobs.
Would anything come up in a background check, public information through the courts if this makes it to trial? I don't want to jeopardize my chances of getting a job with certain "stories" that could come out regarding my drunk behavior. I do not have a criminal record if that helps.

Hi, Babescake,
Congratulations on graduating from rehab and rebuilding your life. What a great deal of courage it takes to do what you've done!
I did want to let you know that a question like that is probably best one for an attorney who represents you in the divorce.
Take good care!

Hey babescake,
Glad to see you completed rehab!
Depends on what level of back ground you will be having. I used to do Secret and higher backgrounds. We dug up everything, and I mean everything. The dirt in your past is not that big of a deal since you don't have convictions. They become a big deal if you try to omit facts or lie about them.
FYI, if you need a high level clearance they will be all over your social media and any other online activity you've done using your primary email address. With that said, don't give them anything that will exclude you from the job.
