How do you change a habit? I'm a depressive bi-polar and an alcoholic

Its been 15 days since I drank. With 1 slip. I'm feeling uncomfortable. and I need help in finding a group that I can spit it all out. My past behavior. I'm 66 yr old woman, legally deaf. Was drinking wine almost everyday.
I'm sleeping a lot during the day. I have no motivation! Help!

Hi edwards - not sure if you wanted the chat room, but you posted in our chat admin forum. I moved your post here for more responses

I hope you feel free to speak about whatever here - there's sure to be others going through similar things

I know there are deaf and hard of hearing AA meetings, but they are usually in large metropolitan areas. OH seems pretty well provided for

http://aacincinnati.org/meetings/oak...rd-of-hearing/

Other methods may have them too.

Of course there are always online meetings for just about every method if you feel you need more support

For future reference, the chat room is here:

Hey there! I don't know if this helps, but i saw you live in cincinnati, not sure where abouts, but i used to go to the AA meetings over there before i moved back to oregon.
I just looked at a map and tried to find it, and it's been close to a decade ago now that i think about it... so i am so sorry, but i used to live in northside cincinnati and miss it dearly! The meeting was over by the original skyline chili restaurant over in clifton if i recall
There are some great meetings over there and some very helpful people as well. Keep at it!

edit: just found it on the corner of ludlow and clifton! that was the skyline, the AA meeting was at a church right by there.

Its Fri nite!

We always had drinks on the weekend. So I took a klonipin, and slept for 3 hrs so I wouldn't think about it. I'll be watching the olympics tonight.
Still, dry! Still trying to find places close by to spit it out!

Great Komplex.

Do you think some of the groups mentioned might fit the bill Edwards?

Hi! its been 55 days alcohol free. Had 5 slips. but I came back to this site, or the book and was fine the next day. Paws has been affecting me. I still can't say that I'm not going to drink anything anymore. Right now I have a hiatal hernia so drinkin wine isn't so good for it. I'm still fighting the urges. Hunny has been driving me everywhere, Trust! But I'm not sure I can trust me yet! I need to get rid of this stinkin thinkin! Cherie

Bipolar 2 here. Also ex alkie, ex cokehead, ex klonopin.

Hopefully you're not taking the klonopin regularly.

Have you seen a psychiatrist to adjust your bipolar meds since being sober? It can completely change what you take and how much.

Good job on the 55 days. Here's to 56.
