1st time seeking support
Hi all
4th day without a sip and getting thirsty. This is my 3rd attempt to stop in 12months and made 12 days late last year. Things did and will go back to my habbit of roughly 20 a day if i have a moment of weakness again. Jitters and sweats are gone just the mind games and cravings and anxiety to deal with now.
Thanks for the add and the ears to fall upon.

Welcome FinalCall. Today is your 5th day. You can do this. Mind games and cravings are just feelings. Sit them out, as they will go away. Stay close to SR and read and post often. Try to post when a bad craving or feeling hit. Someone (or lots of someones) will come to your rescue.

Here is day 5.
Woke up alright off to work.
Didnt expect such a large amount of support here. It is very much appreciated and inspiring.
I guess this path has been walked by many and must help alot of people out.
Many thanks in advance

Hi Final Call
Hope you can stay sober, but if you find you can't stay stopped on your own, you could try Alcoholics Anonymous. None of us could quit on our own and felt hopeless and full of despair. Now I have a way to stay stopped and the support and friendship of people who understand and help each other. I took a powerful beating from alcohol dependence before I would ask for help. People say there are other ways to quit drinking, but this was the only way that worked for me. Teia

I have thought about AA meetings but im not sure they are for me. Its been a big week though discussing my drinking with doc and joining this amazing group.
When i need more support im not sure wether to try visiting a psycologist or approaching an AA group or similar.
Just looking back wondering how an everyday choice became an everday need right before my eye's.

Hello there
Hello there. I know it is extremely rough but it gets easier in time. My father was a long standing alcoholic (I'm assuming alcohol). And he actually almost drank himself to death, but he did get soo much better. It brought us all so much closer together, but the main you reason to do it is for yourself. I wish you much support, and honestly there are many things online that can give you tips on overcoming this. In fact, I know of a few to make it easier.
