New member day two
Hi all
I’m a 36 year old male, been a heavy drinker for 15 years. Only had periods of not drinking when serving In the Army. Im in civilian employment now and was drinking more than ever. Every day at least 5 pints. Beer is my vice, lager. Decided enough is enough, am concerned about health, being over the drink driving limit in the mornings. Want to be one of those folks who don’t need a drink every day. This is my second day, am craving a beer but am having no other side effects. It’s tough though. Been reading through the site. Great source of information, wish every here the best of luck with their recovery.

Good job getting throught that first day. Do you have a support system at home? Wife? Friends?
Regardless, SR has been a tremendous help for me. Let us all know how you are doing.
For me, sobriety took some getting used to but has been a great way to live.

It's Day 36 not easy at first but I stuck it out.
I'm under no obligation to be the person I was a year ago, a month ago, or 15 minutes ago.
I have the right to grow.
No apologies.
I have to tell myself this when feeling remorse or craving.
Be gentle with yourself!!
Stay here and post. You got questions, we have suggestions and experience. Welcome!
