Feeling a little guilty, and yet feel good.

I am feeling a bit guilty that I have not participated as much as I used to or maybe as much as I should in support of others. I still read every day, I "thanks" posts etc... but I do not impart my "wisdom" or offer up advice when I could. I need to change that.

On the other hand, it has been 27 months since I turned my life around. It was October of 2015. Since then I have not driven drunk, woke up in the middle of the night panicking, not eat for two days, have an irrational fear of impending doom for 36 hrs. I have not gotten sick, sweat through my clothes, called or texted everyone I know. It is very calming knowing what is going on at all times. Still working out hard and I love that too.

The only thing that bothers me a bit (and only those who me will know what I'm referring to) is I'm no contact with family. I made an effort last summer to connect and it ended up just like I thought it would. So quit talking to all of them. So that's basically what has been going on, nothing too exciting and that's just fine.

Good to hear from you Jeff and glad things are OK.

Participation here is definitely opt in, so no worries there.

I'm sorry your reaching out to family didn't have the result you wanted but who knows? maybe you planted a seed?

Either way seems like you're doing well

D

You sound good, Jeff

I tend to ebb and flow with my posting, but I do read everyday.

Hi!!!! So good to hear from you and to know that you are still here and most of all to know you are still going. I remember your story really well and everything you went through . I’m sorry things are the same with your family! Don’t feel bad about the boundaries, you are only looking after yourself.

Post when you need and read when you need!

Hi Jeff,

It's good to hear your update, sounds like you are doing well. I'm sorry you had to go no contact with your family, but I remember the stress some of your interactions were causing.

I think it is great if you are able to support newcomers. I try to make at least one positive post each day. Sometimes I am able to spend some time and make more. I remember how difficult those first days were, and the kind and supportive responses I received made me think I could really do this.

This was an inspiring experience-filled post, Thomas11! Thanks for posting it and by no means should you feel guilty about anything ... leave a little good work to be done by others!

Good to see you, Jeff.

You did what you could on your part, as far as reaching out to your family. I hope that, eventually, things will change regarding your family.
