I also like the point Jon Kabat-Zinn makes that "mindfulness" can also be translated as "heartfulness" because in many ancient Asian languages mind and heart mean the same thing. This helps to emphasise that as well as being a technique, mindfulness has another aspect which is connection, both with yourself and others.
