Again and again, unhealthy minds that have been affected by this Family Disease of Alcoholism, tend to look for problems more than answers.

The answers that have worked, time and again, for others who've been through this are completely illogical.

Life changes.
People change.
This disease changes people... including us.
Life is illogical.
This disease is illogical.
Recovery is illogical.

As much as alcoholics resist AA, which time and again has brought HEALING to those who've actually dived in and worked the program, done the 12 steps, gotten a sponsor.... those who learned to TAKE from the program what WORKS and leave the rest....

There are just as many friends and family members affected by this disease. It changes our thought processes, the way we view ourselves and others, it HINDERS our own recovery by doing the same thing to US that it does to others with this Disease...

We, the rest of us so greatly affected by Alcoholism, resist going to Alanon. We have all kinds of excuses. And if we do go... are we willing to "take what works and leave the rest"?, as is the whole basis of the program. Are we going to dive in, get a sponsor and let the 12 steps bring about a new transformation of ourselves... are we willing to let go of hostility, anger and wanting revenge in order to find peace, love and healing?

AA and Alanon are not religious programs. They welcome ALL. Including those who are of any faith or of none.

Whatever hang!ups that keep us from finding healing are simply more ways this Disease of Alcoholism has of keeping us ill.
