New to Online, needing help!

Hey, guys!
New to the online thing. Went to treatment in New Mexico November 2016, than moved to Texas for sober living. moved back home (New Mexico) recently. I live in a very small town with little-no fellowship. feeling shaky in my recovery right now, needing some help from my people... if you can/feel like reaching out to help, it would mean the world to me. Thanks!

Hey commanderrose13, welcome to the site!

What's up tonight? It's just a thought - using/drinking won't make anything better or easier.

Im just logging out, but there are a couple ongoing threads you may want to get involved with, the January 2018, and Weekenders, and you can look around at other threads, too. Plenty of support and wisdom here.

Links, join in!

https://www.soberrecovery.com/forums...at-escape.html (Weekender 18-22 January, 2018– The Great Escape)

I'm sure there will be others along soon, too.

Great to have you with us, comanderrose. We're here to encourage you - and to make sure you never feel alone.

I drank 30 yrs. It was part of everything I did, & I never imagined I could get free of it. I now have 10 yrs. sober, mainly due to the friendship & support I've found here. Someone is always around - stay close.

thank you, moving home is kinda rough, but it is temporary. only for a few months. the fellowship was very strong in Texas. I miss it a lot. I tried to help a fellow addict tonight, it helped me more than i tried to help them, crazy how that works.

Welcome! If you stick around here, you will find there is an excellent fellowship on this site. It is literally saving my life! I also find a lot of help for myself in helping other people, so I know what you mean about that. Congratulations on getting sober and all the work you have already done. See you around on the forum!

Morning!

Glad to see you settled in and found a way to help. Good stuff, see you around.

I learned my recovery doesn't depend on outside issues like location. You'll find a way to make it work in your new spot - and like everyone said, there is always someone on this site: it's international and when the US is sleeping, the UK is up. I came here in the middle of the night many times and found it calmed me.

Can you keep in contact with your recovery friends in Texas?

Keep working on a gratitude list! Works every time.

Maybe you could tell your recovery friends about us at SR. They may want to join us and therefore, be closer to you & your recovery, too. Couldn't hurt to ask tem, right?

Welcome.

I find the speaker recordings really helpful when its not possible to get to a meeting. Might be worth listening to some.

thanks guys! i really appreciate all the support i'm getting. i keep in contact with quite a few people back in Texas. i talk to three woman that i really connected with on a regular basis. it's just different being home, change is hard, but good. i know this experience will just make me stronger, an I know i'm strong enough to handle being here. just feeling like a child again because i'm living with my mom and i have a lot less freedom here.
