Day 9 - difficult day

As you know i have told people I am doing dry January ( easiest thing to say to people this month). Today I found out the three people who were meant to be doing it with me started drinking again after day 2 or 3 .
This messed with my head a bit and allowed AV to start shouting at me that Ive proven i can do better than them so i might as well have a few pints- and I have to say its bloody tempting which is why ive retreated to my bed fir a nap. I need to write down why I am not going to drink today
1. The children have belief that there dad will go at least 30 days
2. It would let my wife down
3. My sensible self knows it would trigger a downward spiral to a place I dont wish to revisit.

So as i say - a 20 minute nap while the urge leaves me

A nap sounds much better than alcohol. Great job.
Whatever it takes!!!!

I wish for continued sobriety for you, beyond day 30 You may be surprised at how amazing you feel, how your wife and kids look at you.

Peace,

Hello ,
Congrats on nine days. That is great. You have been Sober all of 2018.
I hope you keep going. A couple of pints won't satiate our addiction.
It will just wake it up. Good job posting and indulging in some self care (nap)
I am newly sober and have the same feelings plus close calls. I am glad I didn't partake and made it through. I am in a much better place today because of it. I always regret after the fact. I am struggling right now myself.

Well my nap turned into a 5 hour sleep which is good but means I will most likely be up all night now - its 1.44am .
At least it is the start of day 10 !!!
