I did it
It had my first sober New Year’s Eve in 18 years.
Wow. I really don’t know how else to explain it.
I spent the day scared, sad and feeling sorry for myself because I can’t be one of the “normal” people who can just have a few..etc..
But, it was okay. I’m on vacation with my husband in Zurich and just got back from watching the most beautiful fireworks display. It will be nice waking up later day remembering my evening.
*breathing a sigh of relief*

That's wonderful, Flinders! I felt a little wistful on my first sober holidays - but after that, I adjusted & was thrilled to be free. We promise it will feel less strange as time goes on.
I'm at a New Year's Party right now. The vape heads walk in and selfishly take over the garage by opening it up and freezing everyone out.
Everyone else is otherwise having fun...nobody is drinking. So nice to party with other non drinkers.
Thanks.
