Happy New Year everyone! 😋
Hi everyone,
Haven't been here for a little while, same old boring story I'm afraid, so I won't bore you with the grim details.
I've had a few weeks and months of sobriety this year, longest being 3 months....... I'm ready to stop torturing myself now, because that is literally how it feels for me, I deserve to be happy and healthy, I'm not a bad person, just a little lost in life, but I know the path I want to follow now, the periods of sobriety that I have attained this year made me feel amazing😊 but as soon as an emotional situation arised the AV was back sitting close to me claiming to be my best friend again... And well I gave in, I was so weak.
I know this isn't going to be easy but like I said I'm ready for it now. So I've made myself a plan, got myself a few apps to help and have some self help books and of course I hope to lean on all you lovely people at SR for support. 2018 will be my year! 'Our' year for all the newbies joining or considering joining. It's time for a new beginning.

I share your struggles and boring stories as well
A change is needed now, only so many times I can mess up without terrible consequences happening and I have come pretty close in the past.
I am now focused and trying to piece a plan together hopefully for the last time.
All the peeps on this site are amazing and have a miriad of stories to tell and a wealth of personal experience to share, good or bad. I think we should start listening and learning, how about you ?

I don't view it as weaknesss - more a learning experience. It took me a lot of tries to even get to 30 days, much less 3 months. Finally, it clicked and I surpassed that.
Keep going and use what you've learned to stay sober.

Gabe let's do this! It day 2 for me aswell, although im wondering if I should really make it my day 1...🤔 as I was pretty much still drunk yesterday with the amount of alcohol in my system for the night before!
What's everyone's plans for tonight then? I am going to celebrate hogmanay treating myself to some luxury pampering gifts!
Face and hair mask, body scrub, hot bath with gorgeous smelling oils! And a diy manicure and pedicure! A nice tasty cheese board and some pate!
Washed down with some thing tasty and refreshing, like coconut water! Xx

You have so much planned, you wouldnt have time to drink !! Enjoy your 'me time'.
I will definitely be sober, picking my daughter up from a party at 2am.
I will spend the evening quietly and hopefully calmly looking forward to my day 2 tommorow.
