Sick & Tired

Hello folks! Awoke at 3am after drinking a bottle of wine last night, afraid I was going to die and remorseful about yet another night of repeating this destructive behavior. However, tonight is different becauseI found this website and read some posts that demonstrate real hope and proven results from abstaining. Here, I have read posts describing a nightly wine habit that mirror mine. For the first time in 14 years of this insanity, I found some common ground with others which makes all the difference in the world because I know that I am not alone (and loneliness is my trigger!). Thank you. I will check in after 24 hours and a meeting.

Well done UP. I'm so glad you found us and the posts you've read have been helpful. I know that when I didnt have any experience, strength and hope of my own yet, tapping into, and riding on the wave of other people's made all the difference to me staying sober.

What meeting do you mean? Online or a face to face one locally?

Welcome Up. Read all over here and make sure to post too. This site has been a lifesaver for me. Join in a regular thread or two....or more. My most important thread is the month I quit (October). I find a lot of support and common ground with them. They start a thread for each month so look for the December one and there will soon be a January 2018 one too. You might also find threads where you just check in each day, morning/bedtime gratitude, and the one year and under ones helpful too. I like checking the newest posts: Go to the toolbar above and click on "New Posts" or "Quick Links" and then click on "Today's Posts" in the dropdown.
Best wishes to you. I noticed the name of your post - sick and tired. Yes, I really was sick and tired of being sick and tired. If you are at the point, you are in the right place for help on where to go from there. Take care of yourself today!

Welcome.

I was a wine person myself.

3 bottle of wine every night, 7 days a week.

I'm on 26 days sober now and SR has been a huge part of my support structure.

Welcome!

It was a bottle of wine a night for me too, my last one on Monday 25th September.

You can do it!

Glad you joined us!
Posting when you have the urge to drink is a great support,
and reading and supporting others has also been really helpful to me.

Welcome!! You're in a great place with good people who want nothing more than to watch you succeed!!

My last wine night... Ufta, that was 4 bottles.. A regretting phone call that I barley remember, a ruined friendship, telling my boyfriend what happened the next day while he was away on vacation all while my infant son was sleeping in my house. I blacked out, what kind of mother does that?

So, no more wine or any other alcohol for me.

I wish you the best,
DreamCatcher
