Sobriety feels so good
Hi all!
Just wanted to check in and say hi to my support system here. Today I am 64 days clean and sober. And it feels great!
I actually got a job and yesterday was my first and last day. They were giving wine coolers, beer and bottles of wine to customers all day. I am grateful to say I didn’t really have the urge to drink, but knowing it was right there and in my face made me pretty anxious. I told them this morning that after some careful thought I didn’t feel it was a good fit for me there, and that I would not be returning. It feels amazing to be able to say “no” and get myself out of a sticky situation. Onward and upward!
I’m heading to my parent’s today to spend Christmas with them and will be attending meetings out where they’re at. It feels great that they’re proud of me also.
Sending out lots of love, prayers and good thoughts to you all over this holiday season! Thank you all for your support!!

That's great! I too re-learned the word "NO" when I stopped drinking and started thinking again with a rational mind. The crap I let slide, agreed to and prolonged while I was drinking was driving me to drink even more,so I no longer do something unless I want/need to. Quite liberating! Enjoy your holidays with the fam.
