Another clear day and a new thought
While driving to the store and back I realized a mind-set I’ve had for at least a couple of years
I’d go get booze and drink with the feeling of returning emotionally to my past
I’d check out folks on Facebook, look up individuals I haven’t seen in years and paint the past in a lovely picture in my mind
I thought it was melancholic comfort
But my anxiety stems from those times so I’m not sure of the attraction
Alcohol-fueled time travel
Wasn’t a good thing at all, but that’s exactly what I was doing

Yes, alcohol prevents you from being present in the moment. I know I missed a lot when I was drinking.

I have done the same thing. I ended up deleting facebook because of it. I am more present sober and a lot happier.

If I make a new fb it’s going to be decidedly different
But that will be much later
Right now, aside from help and family, I’ve cut myself off from folks pretty much
Thing is- it was easy and I’m much better off
Feels like a healthy thing for me
