Quotes

I found some great quotes I would love to share.

We will start with
"Take what you need and leave the rest" That goes with this post as well

All of these are from Dr. Steve Maraboli and they hit home for me. Maybe you too?

"Life will challenge you
to find refuge in the past.
Do not be fooled into
backward living.
Be courageous enough
to keep moving forward"

"Stop using 'Easier said than done,' as an excuse to not change!
Bringing your life to a higher level is challenging;
get over it and rise
to the challenge"

"The truth is,
unless you let go,
unless you forgive yourself,
unless you forgive the situation,
unless you realize that
the situation is over,
you cannot move forward"

"Happiness is found in the simplest of things.
Happiness is found in gratitude,
in kept promise,
in a good conversation,
in love,
in a friendship,
in an achieved goal,
in a fond memory;
in all the simple magnificence of life"

"The people in my circle?
Those who make me feel BLESSED
not stressed"

"I am self-propelled: fueled from within
I appreciate people's opinions,
but I'm not attached to them.
I learned a long time ago that if
I give them the power to feed me,
I also give them the power to starve me."

"If people refuse to look at you in a new light and they can only see you for what you were, only see you for the mistakes you've made, if they don't realize that you are not your mistakes, then they have to go"

Do you have any you would like to share?

"There are two types of people in the world: those who divide people into two types, and those who don't."

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

Steve Maraboli is highly inspirational.

Thanks for these, DreamCatcher.

Sometimes what you’re most afraid of doing is the very thing that will set you free.

One of our new members has one of my favourites as his (her?) profile picture (thanks NASH256!)

"A smooth sea never made a skilled sailor"

I also like

"the salts of life make the fruits taste sweeter"

oh and edited to add, my profile picture says:

"the most important thing I've discovered is that I can no longer waste time doing things I don't want to do"

It's from the film The Great Beauty, and comes from the simple moment when he doesn't feel like looking at a lover's "selfies" but I think of it in regards to my drinking. I just can't waste any more time doing that, I don't want to.
