Angry Roommate causing problems

My roommate has stocked our fridge full of booze. I'm so tired of my roommate doing these things! She is always coming in drunk, grrrrr. Being in college is really hard. I need a new roommate.

But I sober and happy.

That would be tough for me, the easy access. You're doing really well, though, Hope - I've got faith that you'll be able to resist temptation. Sucks to have it right there in your face, though. What are the possibilities of getting a new roommate without wreaking too much havoc on your life? Might be a good idea, if it's not too disruptive.

Good luck to you - stay strong. Glad to hear you're sober and happy. Have a good weekend!

I know exactly how you feel

ROOMATES SUCK!!!!!

My dumb roomate and his goofy girlfriend are always getting wasted and trying to pull me back down to that pitiful level. I've told him that I'm sober and that I'm through with the partying BS for good. Now he's got a 12 pack in the fridge and another 12 pack in the mini-fridge. It's a good thing they don't smoke weed or I'd be fuggin out of my mind. At least I have my NA friends to hang out with whenever things get rough...

Luckily, none of my roomates really drink. Two of them smoke weed constantly, and the other is in AA, but there is hardly ever any alcohol in the house.

Have you talked to her about it?

Wow, I'm amazed at how well you're handling it. To be honest, in that situation I would hope I could do as well. I'm terrified of being around booze. Less than one month sober, and on shaky ground. Does she know that you are recovering? I agree with Dave, maybe you should try to talk with her. A little consideration goes a long way. Plan B - look for that new roommate.
