Day 1
Hi
Waiting to get counselling and looking for support in my recovery. Self care is the only method of support I have (group meditation, walks, eating healthy, projects). I'm going through a VERY stressful time at the moment and looking for extra support.

White,
Do you care to generalize about your stress w us here at SR?
I got clean, minus a couple of slips, a while back.
I still have problems, but physical addiction is not one of them.
After decades of addiction, I am still learning to cope w the real world.
I would have it no other way.
I obsess sometimes, but i have strategies for dealing w it.
They work, but it takes time.
We addicts need to hunker down and be ready to suffer for while.
There is no easy road out of addiction.
Thanks.

There's lots of support around SR WhiteLight. A good place to start may be jumping into the Nov 2017 class thread. Or the weekender thread. I enjoy the 24 hour thread as well. Just jump in and find what suits you! I'm sorry about the tough time you're going through. Alcohol always finds a way to make things worse yet. ......took me many years to figure that out! Anyway, welcome to SR.

Thanks for the welcome Dee74 and for your words of encouragement hpdw. I have general support from a family member re the stressful incidences and am preferring to keep my posts and support here strictly about quitting alcohol and just to share that I'm under abnormal levels of stress on a given day without going into detail.
