Day 26: Making Contacts, and Emotions
Day 26 here and still solidly on the sober train. Still living with family, but I am heading back to the other side of the country and back to my job Friday. I have my plan developed, and I am starting to execute it as much as I can while visiting family.
One of my biggest threats is lack of connection. I plan to attend 90 in 90 when I get back, starting Friday evening, but ideally I would LOVE to have a few names and numbers in hand of local people even before I get home. How do I do that? Can I get a list of names and numbers before I hit a meeting?
On an unrelated note, my emotions are all over the place in the past few days. I wanted to rip my sweet dear mom's head off yesterday for not hearing what I said. She's 90, of course her hearing is bad! Just so cranky, then tired, then ok...they are in flux. Anyone else deal with this one month-ish in? What did you do?
Also going to see doc next week for a checkup. At one month in, anyone find anything that helped with recovery?

Hi Pinnacle,
Day 26 is great!
I'm not an AA person, but I think the only way to get names and phone numbers is to attend the meeting. Do you have contacts from AA where you are living now? If so, maybe you can lean on those people until you establish new contacts.
And, yes, anger/impatience and other such emotions are pretty common early on. I remember going through something similar with my Dad when he was in his eighties. It seemed like he automatically said 'What??' every time I said something. I had to learn patience.

Why don't you call AA central service in the town in which you are moving? They can give you a few contacts to get you started! Then, when you hit a meeting, grab some names and numbers from the group.

All the best for your new job and move Pinnacle
Irritability is pretty normal in the earl y part of recovery.
Try not to rip your mums head off - I reckon you might miss her when you move
