I finally listened to my little voice and got the f out of bed and went to a mtg. It was a candle light meeting. So beautiful. The speaker spoke with such humility. He talked about a moment when he thought he was gonna die in drunk driving accident and rermembered thinking he was glad it was gonna be over. I’ve thought that! I felt the universe guided me there. I know I gotta go to meetings every day. I want to be free. I want to be giving. I want to not live in the misery of self centeredness. Im grateful for that meeting. The people spoke to me. My therapist. You guys.

I went to my first AA meeting on Thursday. It felt comforting to be around people wanting to better themselves, not judging and there because we share something in common and not feeling ashamed by it.

Good for all three of you. You just made my evening.
To see people trying to actively recover is invigorating to this old sober drunk.
