Day 3 - .. must never ever feel this way again

Feeling slightly bettter despite not having been able to eat much over last few days ..I must never ever ever get myself in this dreadful situation again. Next time it ( withdrawal) could kill me.

Congrats on 3 days!!

Have a plan for the next few days. Withdrawals can last up to 10 days. Try to get plenty of fluids, exercise, and sleep. You'll have good days and bad days, they are all great sober days.

Good luck Icandothis.

Intent is great but action is better Icandothis - the more work you put into staying sober the more chance you'll have of lasting success

Brilliant job on 3 days. You can't get to 4 days without having done 3 days. I'm only on a couple of months, but the good days are getting much more frequent. Stick with it. I think we are making the best decisions of our lives.

Please don't rely on your memory of this horror to sustain your sobriety. Implement a proven method of recovery.

I agree.
Have a plan to not drink because after you start to feel better your AV will begin to fool you into having just one. Bad idea
One is one too many!

It's good to remember those thoughts and not go through this again.

Do you have a plan for how you will continue your recovery? Taking action every day is very important.

Do you know how to "play the tape forward"? These early days of withdrawl should be in your tape so when you relive in in your mnd you have an idea what to expect if you pick up that first drink.

The way you felt yesterday - I remember so clearly feeling that way when I first came to SR 10 yrs. ago. I knew I would never make it back from another binge. Being here helped me find the courage to change my life. I never took another sip - mainly due to the encouragement I found here. I'm really glad you're with us, icandothis.
