Wow I have 7 days clean and sober. It was a rough 4 or 5 days but feeling much better now as I tackle day 8.
I was quickly reminded yesterday how destructive HALT can be to your sobriety. Hungry, angry , lonely and tired. Four big enemies of sobriety.
I went for a walk and did not eat and started to get a headache. Then the phone rang and something pissed me off that normaly I would have just brushed off. So off to the store I go to get something to eat and BAMM I am in the wine isle. Well thankfully I was able to just walk on by and get some food and get home. But in a split second I could have gone the other way but I remembered HALT.
To any of you newbie’s that have not tried to quit 1000 times and have failed 999 times Halt is a good thing to remember.
