I didn't sleep much last night. I'm crying a lot and feeling so ashamed of the things I've done when ringing. I told my parents last night which was one of the hardest things I've ever done. How do I forgive myself?

Time, the great healer.

Sober time will help with your emotions, and it will also show people you are serious about changing your life for the better.

Just get through the first couple weeks and it will look much brighter.

It will take some time. Shame and guilt are part of the addiction, but you will be able to work through this. As you recover, you can regain your self-esteem.

"How do I forgive myself? "

Just do it, friend.

None of us (esp. here) are perfect.

The more I forgive myself
the more I forgive others.

The more I forgive others
the more I forgive myself.

We're all in this together.
We all need forgiveness.

I'm grateful to give it,
grateful to receive it.

If even from myself.
Especially myself.

I have been in that position more than I'd like to admit, but it is part of this disease.
It helps to be productive. I'd recommend an AA meeting - the support you get from them is amazing.

All I could do in the beginning was stay sober.
Its a good place to start.

In time you'll be able to mull over everything thats happened and hopefully find some peace with it.

No point in overwhelming yourself now tho - get better
