Awesome !

Morning all :-) (if your in UK!) otherwise good afternoon or evening

How things change in 6 months - I’ve been up since 5.30 , got work in a hour.Had Breakfast (with Mutt begging for obligatory toast crumbs),few cups of tea and a smoke outside listening to storm Brian - just looking forward to what the day is going to offer ..nothing really exciting planned but just feels exciting !

Rewind 6 mths - waking up feeling like death, throwing up,in a foul mood just wanting to lie on sofa and hit bottle to feel “normal” again ..if I woke up at 5.30 then I would have hit the wine as it was still nite in my mind.

Sleep is so much better now - proper sleep not comatose sleep

Anyway , random I know but for all those in early days please keep going - you too can be posting about your boring day but feeling just great about it !

Hi , well done for 6 months sober .
I cringe when you describe the waking up at 5 am wanting wine . I,d be dry heaving dripping with sweat praying there is some drink from last night ,finding something ,anything trying to get it down without bringing it back up . I will never go there again .
I think where I am we will miss the storm , hope its not too bad for you .

Nice positive feelings Rainyengland. Being 2 weeks sober, I also appreciate the good quality sleep I'm getting.
I know about waking up and wanting to start drinking when I'm not working. I usually have bought more than I could ever finish to make sure I could.
I'm a Brian, so sharing the same name as the storm I sort of want it be a bit impressive. Though I don't want massive destructive force, I don't want some pathetic anti-climax - having said that, probably my roof will blow away now.

Great post rainyengland and congrats on 6 months!!!

I can relate so much to that! Waking and carrying on just to as you say feel normal.

I'm in the very early days, Day 10 for me today. I too don't have much planned but feel so happy knowing it'll all be spent sober and that I'm on the right track now.
My sleeping patterns still all over the place, keep waking at 3:30am but I'll gladly cope with this for a while if it means keeping me off that life / soul destroying poison.

Think I'll have a nice long walk with my dog today and get plenty of fresh air.

Love your inspiring post and well done again for 6 months!

K x
