It's posts like these that scare the hell out of me.
What lead you to start drinking again?

Quit going to meetings
Quit working on my recovery
Started believing I was doing it
Isolated myself from everyone i know
Moved to a cottage hours from home and lived there alone
Isolated some more .
Then one day just said
What the f?
Im miserable and lonly
Wonder how i could make it worse ???

Clydesbonnie - it's so good to have you with us.

I know how you feel. I had 3 yrs. once & decided I could have 'a glass' of wine. 7 yrs. later I found SR & began to reclaim my life. This time it was much harder. I proved to myself that I couldn't touch it - I would never be able to have just one, or drink one night and stop. It sounds like you're fed up & ready to get free again. This is a great place for encouragement - we all understand what you're going through.

They used to scare me too Frank until I realised the buck for my own recovery stops with me.

If I commit myself to never drinking again, and doing whatever is necessary for me to keep that commitment, I will not, cannot, drink again.

It's simplistic but it's the bottom line

I and I alone raise the glass to my lips.

If I refuse to do that again ever under any circumstances - no relapse
