I was just curious what this group thinks about using online programs to help with addiction?

Hi krissatay, I think online or phone support is a good thing, like bimini said that's what we are doing right now. I remember my sister using grief counseling that was done via telephone and she found it very helpful during her time of need. In today's world of technology why not take advantage of it? Especially if one wants to keep anonymity with problems of addiction like we deal with here on SR.

I have not used it for addiction, but do plan to use it for counseling next year when my insurance changes. I have tried it a time or two and once I got usto it, it was fine. I am interested to see how it will go longer term.

There are many online chat rooms too, SR has one, Smart, AA, etc. Many folks find an online meeting is helpful, and certainly a lot easier to go to than a face-to-face meeting. Lots of support options nowadays!

SR is my place to go in my work towards continued sobriety. This spot has helped immensely. Especially since I live in the back woods with no license at this time.
