Stop drinking alcohol and start drinking water. Have a good meal and enjoy the rest of the day. You have not failed. It was a slip...it happens.

"Fall down seven times, stand up eight."

(It can also be "Fall down 107 times, stand up 108.")

It's all in your attitude and thinking. Stay positive, move on from it, you can't change it, and keep going.

Don,t drink any more and start tomorrow fresh . You didn't slip you DECIDED to drink as a reward ,
When I ever had a period of sobriety then picked up it was MY CHOICE not a slip . We need to be honest and be accountable for our actions .

Well, while you're drinking.....

....no going to the dark side!!

Keep it positive, keep it light and funny. Keep things in perspective.

No point crying over spilt milk.

You haven't really failed as such because you would have learned valuable lessons from drinking again. Hopefully you managed to get through the day in one peace. Put what has happened down to experience and have a cold chicken sandwich.

It happens , if it wasn’t so hard this place wouldn’t exist - don’t beat yourself up about it

Tip it all down sink , learn a lesson and start again

Obviously you want this as you would not have posted so that is a positive !

I've never been a big advocate of counting days of sobriety. To be honest I know my sobriety date, but as addicts we tend to be very hard on ourselves. This inevitably leads to self-loathing... need I say more.

We' kre in recovery, an ongoing process. If a few beers feels like failure than you have learned two things, 1) You are very hard on yourself (that's natural), and 2) you have your mind set on sobriety. Sounds like there was some positive that came out of today's "failure" aka "a needed reminder."
