Gutted

Hi all, I'm disgusted with myself. I got drunk this afternoon. Nearly 2 bottles of wine! There are excuses I could make about pressures I've been under. Ive been trying to make changes to take the pressure off but I snapped today. Please pray I don't drink tomorrow-I want to stay sober!

Hi Lookingforchange

you can absolutely not drink tomorrow - in fact if you still have booze you can top it out and start right now.

I'm not sure what you've been doing for your recovery but there's always support here and in places like AA or SMART or LifeRing...

You can do this

D

I'm sorry you're upset, Lookingforchange - but I'm glad you're looking forward to a better tomorrow. I'll definitely send some prayers up. I used to drink to relieve stress & pressure too - only to find out it only made my anxiety much worse. You don't need it.

Thank you-I threw the rest out. I think I'll book a session with my Councellor. They helped me understand my triggers and change my habits. Gutted I'm back at square 1. I won't drink tomorrow-will pray God gives me strength to cope better.

I'm glad you're here and working ready to make this work.

It's hard to pick yourself up, but you must and you must keep trying.

Good for you for dumping out the rest!

I hope you find the support you need for a permanent recovery.

Thank you. I'm feeling positive today. Trying not to catastrophise it too much. I've got craving but I'm determined my story will end positive not negative!

Sorry to hear you relapsed lookingforchange. It's good, though, that you are remaining positive and determined to beat this. Good luck! 💪

Very relieved to read of your progress, Lookingforchange. You never have to go back to that miserable place.
