Hi and welcome yahoshua

Many of us suffer from tinnitus. If it's not getting better or driving you crazy, why not see a Dr?

If it is tinnitus, which I also have, there is no cure. I've found listening to music helps a lot, it drowns it out. Some days I notice it while others I don't even notice it.

I also have it. I am over 100 days sober now. I am wondering if this has to do with drinking. I noticed mine started about 5-6 years ago. Some days are noticeable and some days not. It feels like mine is not so annoying now, but still there , more like a dull swish,ring...??

See an audiologist or otolaryngologist... nowadays they do have noise cancellation thing-a-ma-jigs that might help depending on what's causing the ringing (they look like tiny hearing aids). They will test them on you to see if they can cancel out the frequency of the ringing you hear. Good luck and congrats on staying sober

As a former professional drummer, I've suffered with it for 15 years. When I drink my blood pressure goes up and it gets much louder. And definitely see a audiologist or otolaryngologist. I had white noise generators which helped but I have to go back for a new pair. Good luck.

I have the same issue.
I barely notice it these days, but when I do it drowns out everything else.
It used to worry me so much until I realized it really wasn't dangerous, only mildly disturbing at times.
I second the idea of a Dr's opinion though!!

I find that my ears ring when I am suffering from anxiety. I used to drink to alleviate my anxiety. Now that I'm not drinking, anxiety keeps creeping in and my ears ring when that happens. Other times when I'm not anxious, they don't ring. I'm only sober about three months, so I'm hoping my anxiety will subside, and so will my ringing ears. Not sure if this is why your ears are ringing, but just putting this out there.

Ive had tinnitus for about 20 years and also have a substantial hearing loss which probably puts me in a different category from you . The only time i notice it is when I think about it . In UK there are tinnitus support groups but as far as I know its all about learning to live with it . Everyone is different ,yours might go away , pop round to your doc and seek his advice .

I was taught to stop focusing on it . It takes great patience and time .
I wish I could give you a better answer but in my case getting used to it is how it is treated around my part of the world anyway .
