Welcome Sadina,

You'll find a lot of support and understanding here. Sounds like you might be having some type of allergic reaction. I would see a doctor for your medical issues.

It's great to have you with us, Sadina. I'm glad you've made the decision to quit. Talking things over here really helped me. We all understand, & are here to encourage you.

The itching could be a part of the physical withdrawal. Stay sober and see if you stop itching. If not, then I'd suggest seeing your doctor.

As to staying sober, you've got to want it. You have to want to be sober more than you want to drink.

I had the same thing. It resolved some 6 month after I quit drinking. I think it was my body telling me "please stop poisoning me".

Welcome - glad you found us.

The first weeks / months can be pretty uncomfortable on and off - We just need to find the willingness to st with that discomfort, trust (others who have been where you are now) that it DOES pass, and get a good support network around you of people who're ahead of you on the sober journey and can support & guide you through it.

I kind of expected to feel great after stopping drinking - and I did after some time had passed and I'd learned new ways to deal with life. I found it much easier to sit with that stuff when I was able to talk about it and be reassured that this was just a phase and it would pass. This place has been great for that, as has AA. Have you looked into what support is available for you locally?
