Stress at work

I have a routine meeting with the boss every Tuesday. The meeting this morning was so stressful that it put me into major anxiety. I took half of an anxiety pill. It has helped a little. I must admit the anxiety is a trigger for me. I’m still determined I’m not going to drink today.

I know I’m behind at work because I haven’t been focused on work. I’ve been focused on wanting to go home to hang out with my friend and get drunk. I’m so thankful my friend isn’t there now. It would be difficult not to drink. I also know in time my work will get caught up because as the alcohol gets out of my body my focus will get better and I will be more productive.

Life will get better. It’s just gonna take some time.

Yup. Do the next right thing and all that.

That buddy sounds like he's not good for you.

Unfortunately he’s not. He’s an addict trying to recover. We seem to feed off of each other. He’s a really fun person to hang around and is a really nice guy. I need to focus on myself though and surround myself with people who will encourage me and not bring me down. It does suck though that I need to cut him out of my life. I like him a lot.

I'm with you. Tuesday is a big trigger for me too. I will see you on here tonight, clear and sober

Why was the meeting so stressful?

Sinderos, as you begin to recover, you will probably find that your anxiety lessens. At least you will be better able to cope with it.

Because I’m behind on a lot of stuff. A lot of people here are though. This particular boss is very computer literate and is always in the system. The other bosses aren’t so they don’t hound the ones that work for them. Its my fault that I’m as behind as I am, but it’s partially due to the nature of the job.
