barely hanging in here........
Well I am on day 8 here and really struggling to make it to 9. I can't eat, cant sleep and am very irratible. No meetings around here until tomorrow night and have only been to one so far and haven't connected with anyone to be a sponsor yet. Have headed out the door twice now to make a beer run but haven't made it past the front steps. So I returned here looking for support from all of you. Am ever so grateful I found this place, your posts have kept me going this far and I hope they help me make through tonight.
Thank you all !!!!!
Thank you all !!!!!
Hey Dak....
I'm not white knuckling booze at the moment... but I've been there...
Trying to regain one's life is a lonely job...
But.. your not alone... cause your with us instead of a life stealing brown bottle.
I know it's hell ... now... but your gonna love yourself in the morning... ;o)

Hang in there, neighbor. What you are feeling is normal, and it will pass. I've been there. Don't worry so much about finding a sponsor. First, get phone numbers, alot of them. Get to know people, and let them get to know you. There are alot of wonderful people in the rooms of AA. I happen to know a few people from Buffalo. Mostly women, but a few men. There is help out there for you, and here, too. I have come here many times when I wanted to use, and there has always been someone here to tell me that the feeling would pass. And it did. So now I'm telling you, this too shall pass. Don't give in to the disease. I'm saying a prayer for you now.

Hang in there Dak, you can make it. Just focus on one hour at a time. If you have to, make it 5 minutes at a time.
Don't wait to connect to a sponsor. Just get a temporary one tomorrow. You can ask the temporary to help you find a regular.
Praying for you, I know you can make it
Mike :-)

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.............I plan to make it day 9. As I am taking it a minute at a time right now....going to hang out in here and read some posts and hopefully draw some strength from them. You are all a wonderful bunch of people....bless you all
((Dak)) - Hang in there buddy. I'll second what DesertEyes said. Sometimes its not about making another day, but just staying sober for a minute at a time. It will get easier.
Best,
Joe
