Day 24

Hello all. Day 24 here. I hope that everyone is doing well. Quick question. When does the feeling of hopelessness go away? I was told that it would take 2 weeks for the AD to really kick in. I have been on it for a week now. I have nothing to be depressed about. I have been married for almost 14 years now, and I have 2 beautiful kids age 5 and 1. Hope this cloud will lift soon. Have a great day/night.

Hi, I didn't have anything to be depressed about either, but that's not how depression usually works. It can happen to anyone. For me, it did take a couple of weeks to feel improvement from the antidepressant, and that was after trying a few and changing doses. Not every antidepressant works well for everyone.

I would give it a little longer but don't hesitate to contact your dr if you don't feel improvement.

I'm going on a month and a half and still feeling it.
Depressed, hopeless. But I'm trying to keep going, and you should too.
It will be worth it.

Thank you for the encouraging words Anna and Anarock. I am definitely taking it one day at a time. I just keep telling myself that alcohol is not the solution, and that things will improve as the days progress. Have a great weekend.
