When negative emotions are flowing, it's time to slow down that momentum in order to reset the brain into looking at what it does want. Use the negative as a jumping off point towards a really beautiful future.

The magic in finding a lightening up method is through music, taste, smells, etc. Tap into something, ANYTHING that's fun for you and let momentum start building. Continue looking for fun and good feelings and the rest WILL follow. It's a journey. One day at a time. Baby steps.

Instead of bitching about how much life sucks today, put 20 minutes into watching some videos and allowing some fun to creep into the darkness!!! If you don't break into smile, tears, and/or a bit of hope after that, call up a therapist or your local domestic violence center. SERIOUSLY. I've been there. I've made it through. Many others have, too!! It keeps getting better and better!
