Whatever gets you through

I was asked what I'm doing differently this time around, a plan of action to achieve sobriety after previous failed attempts.

I'm 13 days in..almost 2 weeks.

I'm trying to take better self care.

Going to bed at a decent hour and trying to get good sleep. Trying to eat a little healthier but also not beating myself up over a treat or two.
I'm spending more time reading and posting.
I've also found a wonderful podcast ( I'm brand new to podcasts!) that just absolutely resonates with me to my core called Sober Sassy Life. It speaks to my own wine addiction in such a truthful and profound way, it's been enlightening to say the least.
I've also changed my habits and routine.
I've taught myself to crochet and have started a blanket for my daughter. It is so enjoyable and relaxing. My breathing is calm, slow and regulated and my mind is focused on counting those stitches lol. I have to say this has been the absolute best thing for me to battle cravings. Crochet, count stitches, focus and let it pass. A true labor of love ❤️ I highly recommend learning something new and enjoyable!
Anyways this is where I am today. I hope everyone is having a good day

Good job!

I love that you recognize the importance of changing routines and habits. That was so helpful for me. And, I haven't crocheted for awhile, but I know exactly what you mean about the peacefulness of it. These kind of things are so important.

I've been wanting to learn how to crochet for a while now. Your post convinced me to give it a go! :-)
