100 Days today!!!!!
Hi all,
I am at 100 days today and so proud of myself. I have also saved ~$1000, so that's a bonus. I can honestly say that I do not want to drink. That wasn't true for me even 30 days ago. I wanted to drink, but I didn't want hangovers and all the other crap that goes with it. Now, I truly want to be sober. I am filling all my time with life! I am a creative so more time means more creative pursuits.
I have also attended a couple of AA meetings. My first meeting when I was about 30 days in was a disaster. I decided last week I was ready to try another. I bring my knitting and listen. I don't have to agree or judge, just listen. It's brought me some peace.
Anyway, I know i'm going on like I have 10 years sober or something, but it really is a big deal for me because it was my original goal - and I didn't have a lot of faith in myself to meet it. But here I am!!!!

Apples- well done. I agree- meetings wise. Today - at a meeting there was a well dressed lady (a 'newbie') who was very anxious and teary. One 'old timer', lady- well meaning, made a 3 'keep coming back' a minute speech- for 6 minutes. I do listen, but sometimes I do not necessarily find them all illuminating. The connection to other humans is what I go for. I have a ring- which has a spinning centre- I surreptitiously fiddle with it to not fiddle..I cannot knit- well.
