Just checking in!
Hi all, especially all the team August quitters. Its been a good week since I checked in so thought I would pop and say Hi! And share my milestone of 28 days!!! 4 whole weeks! I am so proud of myself. I dont count the hours anymore and am not really having any cravings. I have more energy and motivation, and because I'm not feeding the cycle of depression, I am finding I am more able to recover from setbacks. I also look better, I look more alive.
I had an appointment with the alcohol service today and am going to have 6 sessions with one of their workers to work on relapse prevention so I feel really positive and like I am arming myself with the tools I need to make this a forever thing and to protect myself from future harm.
I am also on day 4 of no smoking and its going really well. Have been listening to an app each night falling asleep and I am hardly craving at all.
A big hurdle is my birthday this weekend, wanting to let my hair down and treat myself. Hubby was going to get a babysitter so we could go for a meal but I know that would lead to temptation so instead we are going for a family day out, the three of us. I will have a lovely big slice of cake and enjoy the lack of a hangover

Thank you guys.
I went out for a family meal last night and bought a bottle of fizz for everyone to toast my sisters birthday. AV was going nuts, just have a small one, you've proved you can control it now, have it then dont drink again for another month etc. I played the tape forward, I knew if I had that one Id be stopping for 8 cans on the way home. I resisted, and I am glad.
I made it to day 30
