Appointment delayed

So I just had a call from my local medical centre saying my appointment for has been cbt because they are moving surgeries.

Good job I pay privately for skype cbt.

Seriously just wanna go into a cave and sit down face the wall and wait until it ends!

Aaaaaaand BREATHE!

Is SMART along the line of CBT Chilledice? Are there meetings near you for this? I'm sure someone will know if that is the case - I seem to remember that's what someone on here said once.

Leaving the house for me right now is near impossible....I can get to my drs just about because it's a mile down the road.

Well, I don't know about the Smart groups but if you call the local AA number, they can get someone local (same gender) to visit for a chat. They likely would also help to get to some meetings if you were willing to let them help you that way. Might be worth considering.

A few AA people would bring a meeting to your house if you asked. Ive been involved with that before. The guy was dying if liver failure but wanted to die sober so a few of us had meetings at his house with him. It was a great thing to be part of and helped me a whole lot more than it helped him!

I don't necessarily need AA meetings just CBT.

Well it doesn't sound like that's happening anytime soon. Why don't you just give what IS available a go while you're waiting for your clinic to finish moving or whatever they're doing?

And it's worth not getting 'want's and 'need's getting confused. I know that 'AA' sounds less medical / professional than CBT, but you know , they might just have something you need, even if it isn't something you think you want.

It took me a while to get sessions too but I actually got pretty far just learning stuff by myself. Its pretty hard work but if you mix that with skype lessons I think you'll probably make a great deal of progress.
