Its completely normal, KT

You will find you have less of an emotional roller coaster as time goes on - try and remember if someone or something is grinding your gears, it's your mind and body healing

Great job! Take good care of yourself with sleep, food, and keep going- it gets better and better the longer you are sober.

Have you looked under the Newcomers Daily Support Threads? There is a Class of August 2017 that has others quitting/thinking about it this month.

You can do it.

You ARE on a rollercoaster. Your body and mind is in shock from the lack of alcohol. It does get better. I know the first few weeks I was an emotional wreck. Try not to make any major decisions or act on impulses for awhile (I had A LOT of weird "impulses"). You're doing great. Keep at it. It gets better.

My drinking started as a result of my wanting to control. Things didn't go the way I wanted, so I drank.

When I sobered up, my desire for control was still firmly in place. I just didn't have my go-to tool of alcohol. Things still don't always go the way I want.

I learned to let go of my insistence on control. That is how I control these days. :~)

Hi, I'm also on day 6 sober...I've just started feeling better...but I've had weird dreams myself and my mind thinks of a drink regularly out the day. I'm keeping myself together by staying busy. By doing so, I don't leave idle time that makes me want to drink. Just want you to know your not alone...we're all doing this 1 day at a time!...Have a plan each day to stay sober

I'm on Day 5. I haven't had terrible side effects this time, but I have been to Day 5 at least 3 times in the last couple months before relapses and the first round was awful because it had been ages since my body did without for that long. I experienced all the physical symptoms you are. Good luck!

It's not uncommon to be tired, irritable, foggy, have weird vivid dreams - or no sleep at all. Just don't use those as a reason to pick back up. Focus on any good feels that do start to come out, and realize there are plenty more where that came from, the harder you stick it out and longer you stay strong.

I'm 13 days today, and in treatment (which was a great decision).

I asked the same question to my hubs today, -"why do I feel hangover"?- it passes fast, after my first dose of water in the morning, but still... congrats! we r on day 7!
