Genuinely in one of the most exciting times in my life.

Hello there soberfriends

So now I'm coming up to a month most of the very severe symptoms have gone. I never had a serious withdrawal, I was always lucky that way , but my depression and anxiety was terrible for the first fortnight.

I still have those problems, they won't just go away. They were there before I started drinking and they're still here today. However, they are becoming more manageable. I feel like I can now cope relatively well.

Now I feel like I'm able to start living a sober life properly I've been able to rediscover so many things that I'd just forgotten about. Reading, Music, Films, Art, Writing etc etc etc.

The future is now no longer something I'm coping with but is something that is actively exciting, the world has opened up again, like the scene in the wizard of us where things go from and white to technicolour.

I think its easy to get bogged down in hardships, I know I do, but its important as well to appreciate all we've gained as well. Because we've gained everything, basically, we've gotten our whole lives back.

At 2 weeks sober I am happy I am able to help my family with thier issues ,let them cry on My shoulder instead of being the tool who only wanted to get to the shop for another drink .

Great to hear Andagain. I couldn't agree more. No going back to the world of black and white when this new world has opened itself up to us. Why would we ever want to?
