1 year!

One year today! As this forum is for newcomers here are the best pieces of advice I can give from where I stand;

- it also seemed impossible to me one year ago.

- sobriety didn't just happen. It took an honest look at myself, planning, perseverance, and it got a lot worse before it started getting better.

- sobriety is by no means the same thing as happiness, but being sober allows you to work on being happy.

As for me I am the happiest I have ever been. Bring on the next year!

Mr P
That quote is so true and very well-stated. Sobriety alone may or may not bring happiness, but by removing that huge roadblock, it at least makes happiness something that can be achieved.

Congratulations on your year!

Hi DarklingSong,

One step at a time. I promise you this changes. I couldn't see myself getting to a month, but now it s just normality.

Stay strong, stay focused, soon you ll enjoy sobriety way more than you did drinking.
