I am a Newbie with one year clean

Hello... I have one year clean for the first time in my adult life. I am experiencing all kinds of emotions day to day. I have worked hard on my inner dialogue as well as cognitive therapy to help me through. However I was an isolated user so I am starting a sober social life from scratch, Which I do not have any real experience doing. I could use tips and advice on anything relevant to getting a life after drugs/alcohol. Thanks everyone

congrats cl. I am 18m. DO STUFF! Write a ;list of every thing you have always wanted to do- and do it. Go to meetings. Join the local library- they do more than books. Check out the local community centre. Look at stuff that interests you- hiking, art, writing, church, some swear to how wnriching volunteer work is, join a book club, coffee club. Use your phone to take artistic pictures. Do a short cooking class. You know- STUFF.

Glad to meet you, Classic. Well done on your one year clean. I hope you'll continue to read and post here - this is a great place for encouragement.

One year, that is awesome, congrats!!!

I have never been confused with a social butterfly and in my alcoholism I became even more and more solitary and isolated. My world got extremely small.

I have found that the longer I am in recovery, the more my world is opening up and the more I am letting people in. It is a natural by product of recovery.

Trust the process.
