Head hung in shame

Well,
I'm sitting here beating myself up. Had made it 17 days and I gave in. Did a 2 day bender beyond belief. Why did I give in??? I feel awful, can't sleep, night sweats now. Why is it so easy to give in when I know how awful it is.

Now I'm back on day 1. I made one mistake of not coming here too. I'm sure this could of helped keep me from falling.

So mad at myself. Ugh!!!

It's an awful feeling we have. Time to now stay on the sober track. Saturday was 2.5 bottles of wine. I have no idea how much I had Sunday. Damn I hate myself. Especially after feeling so good for 17 days.

It can't be undone, so let's look forward. I'm going to make a plan today. Im going to look for a meeting. I got rid of all the alcohol in the house. If you need to talk, I'm here 😊

Thanks Bananas. This not being able to sleep is killing me. Going to be tired today. Knowing it'll take a few days to feel normal and to rid my body of this poison. I know easier said then done, but I am really done for ever in drinking.

Educating ourselves about addiction
and its affects on our own minds and
bodies is important.

It's also important to come to terms
knowing that we as alcoholics who
have no control on how much alcohol
we consume because one drink was
and will never be enough to satisfy
our cravings for it.

The more alcohol we drink the more
poison is absorbed in our bodies and
affects every inch of our beings. That is
called alcohol poisoning and look at the
many who have died due to alcohol
poisoning.

Admitting and accepting we can never
ever drink successfully is the first step
in stopping the insanity that comes with
addiction.

Next will require changes in our lifestyle.

If we continue to hang around people,
places or things associated with alcohol
or drugs, we will continue to be tempted,
placing ourselves in situations that could
and would put our recovery process in
jeopardy.

Next find yourself a healthy effective
solution, a recovery program that you
can use as a guideline in helping you
achieve health, happiness, honesty that
so many have already experienced due
to living alcohol or drug free on a daily
bases.

Listen, Learn, Absorb and Apply steps
of a recovery program to finally put
alcohol addiction in its place once and
for all to achieve many awesome blessings
and gifts that come with remaining sober
each day moving forward.

I couldn't agree more with this statement. Doing this is what finally broke my cycle of climbing on and falling off the wagon.

It's not enough to just "quit", you have to really do some mental work and change your life.
