Looking for a book recommendation
I read on a thread here about a book called Drinking: a love story. Unfortunately its not available on my kindle to download. Does anyone else recommend another book on the same lines - Kindle in hand ready to down load X
Drunk Mom, by Jowita Bydlowska -fantastic.
Straight pepper diet, by Joseph Naus- about a man who suffers extreme consequences.
Blackout: remembering the things I drank to forget, by Sarah Hepola
Dry, by Augusten Burroughs

It's weird, because in the kindle store, the original book you were looking for said it wasn't available for my device, but when I looked on amazon in regular book section and went to the paperback book, I could click on format and choose kindle. Maybe try that if you wanted to read that one.

I would absolutely recommend 'Drinking; A Love Story' and if you can't get it on Kindle go and buy a copy at some point. I am listening to the audiobook at the mo...I can identify with sooooooo much in the book x
I just downloaded Drunk Mom after reading this. I'm totally scared to read it. I'm sure it's going to remind me of myself and make me cry in shame
This is a complete list of books our members have read and suggested:

When I read Drunk Mom, I was appalled. I am all for honesty and openness, like Caroline Knapp's book is very honest, but Jowita Bydlowska had a baby and mistreated and neglected the child many times. I can't imagine why a mother would want her child to grow up and read that. I don't for a minute think she should hide the fact of her alcoholism from her child, but does he really need to read all the horrible details? I felt it was quite a bit of 'look at me, I'm a very sexy drunk woman', which she does admit to having a problem with.

Thank you all kindly for your suggestions - I will download all as I go along. I have fallen in love with reading books again. As it uses my both hands - I haven't got a hand free to hold a glass of wine - lol X
