Hi
Hello. I subscribed to this forum as part of my CBT treatment for my alcohol problem. Part of the treatment is to find support and my counselor thought it was a good idea that I sign up for this forum.
I quit March 28th. I was brought to the hospital for a detox protocol for four days. After that, I started CBT.
So far I have had no desire to drink. But should I experience any difficulty, I intend to post here.

Welcome llk!
Congratulations on your decision and commitment to getting sober and staying that way!
I'll have 5 weeks tomorrow and this forum has been an invaluable support to me, and I'm sure you will find the same!
Best of luck and keep reading and posting :-)

you could use us like that - but I recommend really becoming a part of this community though...
read around post get to know some other folks, maybe even help a few more
To me, Recovery's not simply a IN CASE OF EMERGENCY BREAK GLASS thing - I see it as a new viable & much better way of life

WELCOME. CBT is good, yes- my cup of tea..to interpret an event in action- through thought..not reaction through emotion. Especially good for me when making sense of the past. Addiction does not follow carefully thought out rules and sometimes interpretation of it can be hard...sometimes it is all I can do to just accept the past, let go and move on.
So to cope for today, support is very necessary for me such as meetings, a counsellor..and SR. Not just when I 'need' to, but as part of my routine.
