Sounds like a good reason to quit to me too! Glad all it cost you was a car.

There are lots of good reasons to get sober. Crashing your car is one reason. Hope you weren't hurt.

Hi. I hope everyone is ok...
For some reason I was spared anything like this. No crashes, no DUIs, no jail.
If I pick up again...it will only be a matter of time.
These are the types of things that I need to think about if/when my AV tries to sweet talk me into taking another ride to utter Hell. I've lost everything else that was of importance... relationships..several of them. That's it's own special kind of Hell. I can only work through it sober. Drinking keeps me stuck. Resolves nothing.
GL,
Jules

Somepeople quit because of a car crash, dui, arrest etc.

Others make it for years w no big outside trouble so they manage to drink themselves sick and insane.

I was lucky or unlucky enough to drink my self sick and insane.

I am much much better now.

SR saved my life.

Thanks.

Welcome to SR! I hope you weren't hurt, and that nobody else was either. This is a wonderful site, and you will find many benefits to sobriety.

That sucks. I've always liked hondas/Acuras, my first car was an 88 accord 5 speed. I banged that thing up drinking too. Sober really is the way to go. So much less to worry about.

I was on my way to ocean city. Me and a buddy of mine were drinking all night and hit a bar that morning. Half way there I got tired and asked him 2 drive, he crashed my car into a tree about 30 mins away from the beach. Luckily no one was hurt..except the tree and my car I guess. It was stupid of me to ask a drunk guy 2 drive... I wouldn't of done that sober.
