Day 5 without the poison

It's day 5 and I am feeling fantastic. I only have to look in the mirror and see the brown rings under my eyes to know I can never drink again. I was starting to look like I had cancer. It was like a ring of death. At first I was waking up scared I had drunk.

I have spent all the money saved so far on food. The diarrhoea has almost stopped. Now I just need to wait till my digestive system calms down and can tolerate healthy food going in.

My house is still a big mess but I am getting there slowly. No poison and better health is my new motto. Walking is next every day.

That's great! Good for you for planning to walk every day. I do that and it's so therapeutic and I always come home feeling good.

I am glad you are feeling better and starting to make a plan. I love to walk every day. That is a great idea. Eating healthy will help a lot too.

Congratulations!
I agree, eating well, walking and water were tantamount for a quick turn around.
Just wait until you wake up tomorrow!

Congrats on day 5!
I found the first thing I noticed was my skin feeling and looking better, face looked less red and puffy!
I love being able to get up early to walk the dog and I'm sure she appreciates it too
Keep going and it gets better:-)

Excellent, sweetichick! Eating well and walking are very good things; I love to go out and observe nature and walking is like meditation for me. Wishing you the best in your journey of sobriety.

Thanks to everyone who replied. I'm now on day 7 and just went on my first walk. It's hard staying sober but not as hard as being drunk. Sometimes I get a craving and just plan on waiting an hour. It seems to help. Trying to stay positive and upbeat. I turn 50 in a few days. I want a clear new decade of no drinking.

Congratulations!!
I quit 2 days before my 40th...I like the way it feels/sounds to think I will not have touched a drop in my 2nd half...one day at the time!
