4 Days Sober :-) and a long way to go

Hi! It's been 4 hard sad days since deciding to delete alcohol from my life. Just starting to feel ok about all this. Been trying to shake this disease for 15 years. It's tough. But I'm committed... I hope :-) been great reading all your stories. It's really helped ALOT.

Welcome to the forums, and congratulations on four days.
That fourth day was always the toughest for me. But you can do it.
I found thinking a long way to go was too much. So I just decided to not drink one day at a time. That's manageable.

I tired to quit for many years, like you, too. Through the help of AA and this place I finally able to do it six and a half years ago.
And at the end I was a bad drunk, drinking most every day.
It's great to have you here. And remember, you never have to drink again.

Hi Sammijane. Congrats on leaving your dysfunctional relationship with alcohol. Sobriety is something to be nurtured and protected -- and it gets so much better!
