Does a Blog Help?

I was wondering if that helps anyone? I started one a little while ago and it felt good to get it out there. It's of course anonymous but it still felt good.

If it is therapeutic for you then go for it. A lot of people "blog" or "journal". Its a very good tool to use.

I believe there is a 'journal' option. I think it's good, although I don't do it...yet. It's good to look back at your sober thoughts about your drinking if you get an urge.

There is! If you go to the top of the page and click on your blog you can add posts. This is a great idea and I may do that for a while.

I just started keeping a recovery journal - not online, not for anyone else but me - so I have a place to turn to remind myself of why I do not want to drink. It helps. I don't blog on here but I do share a lot and sometimes feel I share too much and invite criticism, and that doesn't help me.

I do have a blog on here and used to use it a lot. It helped me to really explore the issues that came up for me in early recovery, and I got a little bit of feedback from the community, which was validating. I want to get back into it. I feel like putting something out there makes me more accountable.

I've also kept a personal handwritten journal since I was a kid, and that has been an invaluable tool.
