Hi,
I've been recovering since 1987 'till last year. No real excuse for the relapse. I am retired and a caregiver for a 97 year old father and a bi-polar wife for 3 years. Also cared for my 90 year old mother 2 years before that until she died. I'm kind of stressed and overwhelmed lately and went back to the booze to self medicate. Funny thing is I'm a retired pastor and hospital and prison chaplain....and addiction counselor.

Welcome!
It does sound like you have a lot going on to care for your father and your wife. Are you able to get any help or care support so you can take regular breaks? I know you will find lots of support here.

It's difficult for some of us to deal with life as it is - but we can absolutely change the way we react to things, or the things we use to cope .
Like Anna said - do you have support with the caregiving, or can you find some?
